    The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund is one of the four Nedbank Affinities and supports projects that focus on helping needy children in South Africa. There are four strategic focus areas of the NMCF, those being child wellbeing (orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children); skills development among out-of-school youth; integration of disabled children; leadership and excellence through a focused advocacy and knowledge management programme.

    The Arts and Culture Trust is one of the four Nedbank Affinities and focuses on the following areas of development of arts and culture in South Africa: job creation, creative skills, cultural understanding, cultural tourism and markets, and arts, culture and heritage in the disciplines of theatre, craft, community art, music, multi-disciplinary, visual arts, craft, arts education, arts administration, literature, dance, and heritage.

  • The Green Trust
    The Green Trust is one of the four Nedbank Affinities and plays a key role in community-based conservation projects within South Africa, in the following areas:  Conservation Education (urban greening, Eco-Schools); Marine Programme (turtle monitoring, SA Sustainable Seafood Initiative, Coffee Bay mussel harvesting); Freshwater Programme (rehabilitation of riparian zone in the Kouga River Valley); Species of Concern (Wildlife Trade programme, cheetahs in Namibia, southern ground hornbills, oxpeckers, wild dogs in KZN, Karoo blue crane, Juliana’s golden mole, Brenton blue butterfly); and the Eco-Regions Programme (Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, national grasslands initiative).

  • Cotlands
    Originally a residential care facility for young children, Cotlands has evolved into a national organisation caring mostly for HIV impacted children and their families.  Care extends across the whole continuum – from identifying and supporting vulnerable children in the community to end stage hospice care for children dying of AIDS.  Expanded services include home based care, community development and capacity-building services in the field of HIV/AIDS.
